Meet The Chef

Alasdair's passion for food and the Scottish Borders started early. By age 16 he was working full time in local kitchens honing his knowledge and skills. By 23 he opened his first restaurant in Jedburgh. 

In 2015 he opened The Capon Tree and secured his first AA Rosette in 2019. In 2021 he increased this to hold 2 AA Rosettes. He plans to build on this in 2022 and aims to secure a Michelin star in the future.

He uses only the finest locally sourced ingredients and has a passion and flair for creating fine-dining dishes that stimulate the senses.

Grilled fillet of seabass with fresh crab meat, pea & asparagus risotto
